Laural Lawler
MS, PCLC
I believe that every person has a story to tell and as we navigate challenges and successes we begin to write the stories of our lives. The story begins with the rules and values learned growing up. Sometimes a character or event written in your story is at the hands of someone else. When someone else writes their truth into your story it can feel upsetting and it can be hard to understand why.
Counseling provides the opportunity to open the book and read through the parts that don’t you feel don’t belong. Through empathy, collaboration, and a deeper understanding we can begin to understand what you believe to be true and write a renewed story together.
I am passionate about working with individuals, couples, and children, as well as advocating for mental health in rural settings. I enjoy using creativity to explore elements of your daily life that feel most impactful for you. I feel it is crucial to create a warm and inviting space that is inclusive of different client needs and foster a feeling of safety. My calm and neutral approach helps separate you from the problem and allows us to build trust and communication to lessen the problem's impact on your life.
